Sample collection team highlights issues at Thoubal District Hospital

Claiming that a facility opened at Thoubal District Hospital for the staff of sample collection team is not hygienic and the same has created several inconveniences in performing their duty, staffers of the sampling team appealed to the State Government and authority concerned to look into the matter at the earliest.
Speaking to media persons, one of the staffers said that though the issue has been raised to the Health Department, Thoubal, no tangible actions have been initiated so far.
Saying that there is also a lack of manpower to effectively perform duties such as collecting swab samples and arranging documents, he asserted that as the facility is arranged by simply making a makeshift tent in front of the canteen, other issues such as unavailability of a dressing room for women staff, electricity, running tap water are troubling the staff, apart from not providing enough masks and hand sanitisers.
He also claimed that staff who had undergone training to form a COVID-19 sampling team are also not deployed till date despite the lack of manpower, he claimed and appealed to the State Government to solve the above-mentioned issues at the earliest.
