Imphal, March 08 2013:
All the pending cases about seniority of officers in Public Works Department are being examined and the Government is working to resolve them all at one time.
This was stated by Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar in response to a call attention motion raised by MLA L Ibomcha seeking regularisation of eight AEs.
Acknowledging the crucial roles played by PWD engineers in constructing roads and bridges and also in their maintenance, Ratankumar claimed that the Government has been working hard to correct and maintain a proper seniority list of the department.
It was also suggested repeatedly not to go to Courts about any controversy in the seniority list.
As no single case cannot be resolved alone, maximum efforts are being put in to resolve all the pending cases at one time, Ratankumar stated.
He also assured to look into the cases of the eight AEs.
Ibomcha stated that the eight AEs have been working in the department for many years on the basis of in-charge officers.
He sought attention of the concerned Minister to regularise service of the eight particular Assistant Engineers.
