The source said a joint operation was launched by 26 Assam Rifles in conjunction with the Special Narcotics Police Aizawl along the Lengpui Airport road in Aizawl yesterday.
Surprisingly the arms and ammunition were hidden in an abandoned electric transformer in the steel electric switch box which was locked.

On breaking the box, the arms and ammunition were recovered from the hideout.
The undergrounds were caught in an under construction house near the electric transformer.
