Ukhrul, September 21 2015:
Chongdan Village Authority has expressed resentment over the State Government's inability to deliver administrative services to remote tribal villages particularly Chongdan village.
The DC of Ukhrul had issued an order on September 29, 2008 wherein it declared Hongbei as an unrecognised village.
Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) had also issued an order on April 13, 2012 which stated that Chongdan Lamkhai (Hongbei) is a commercial centre of Chongdan village and as a result can never be a revenue village, the statement said.
However, in spite of the official orders, a particular road construction project's name "Hongbei village to Tangkhul Hundung" has been mentioned in local dialies and notice board of PMGSY at Chongdan Lamkhai.
Surprisingly, more than Rs 9 lakh was also reportedly withdrawn from the SSA office in Imphal as a first instalment amount to set up a school at Hongbei.
Hongbei has no Government funded building except the two-room school which is in a pathetic condition.
The Primary Health Sub-Centre, Anganwadi Centre, Panchayat hall of Hongbei as recorded in papers are nothing but falsified datum, the statement said.
The village authority urged the State Government to erase "Hongbei" from all the office files and maps with immediate effect and subsequently change the name "Hongbei" to Chongdan Lamkhai in PMGSY notice board.
It also urged the State Government to broaden the old Chongdan road near the uphill of Nungshit Haibi and also broaden the PMGSY road construction work in steep areas in order to avoid accident.
The statement also urged the State Government to sanction all necessary schemes and funds to build basic infrastructure in the village especially in education and health care sectors.
