CoPoTR seeks Modi's intervention on ADC issue

Chandel, September 21 2015:
Committee on Protection of Tribal Rights (CoPoTR), Chandel District urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately intervene and take necessary action for making ADC Chandel functional at Headquarters in Monsang Pantha.
In a memorandum forwarded to the Prime Minister, CoPoTR said the functioning of the Chandel ADC in Imphal instead of district headquarters cause inconvenience to the people.
CoPoTR also condemned the controversial re-election of ADC Chairman at ADC Bhavan Chingmeirong on September 14 stating that ADC Chandel was meant for the people of Chandel and not for Imphal West District.
The memorandum informed the Prime Minister that a series of democratic agitation demanding separate administration of the tribal communities would be launched if the Government of Manipur "forcefully takes steps" to make ADC function from Imphal.
Meanwhile, the Committee in a notification appealed all officers, staff of ADC Chandel to attend ADC office at Monsang Pantha regularly and carry out all office matters related to ADC Chandel within the district headquarters office.
The committee said to any person or individual who violated the notification will be tagged as "anti Chandel" .
