Imphal, September 21 2015:
The Irabot Celebration Committee observed the 67th Manipur Kanba Numit at Irabot Park, Lamlai Chalou today.
As a part of the function, a mass rally was also taken out in commemoration of the exploits and heroic deeds of Lamyanba Irabot.
Floral tributes were also paid at the memorial tomb of Lamyanba Irabot located inside the park.
CPI leaders MI Singh, B Sharma, A Lala, Dr M Nara, All Manipur Nupi Marup member Y Ibeni, Irabot Celebration Committee secretary L Sotinkumar and L Iboyaima attended the function as presidium members.
Speaking at the gathering, Dr Nara said that Hijam Irabot was one leader who worked tirelessly to preserve the integrity of Manipur and promote hill-valley unity.
CPI Manipur State Council is committed to this ideal of Hijam Irabot.
Comments by some politicians of Nagaland and Mizoram on the situation in unfolding in Manipur after the three Bills for protection of indigenous people of Manipur were uncalled for.
Their unsolicited comments evoked a strong sense of suspicion.
They need not interfere in the internal affairs of Manipur, Dr Nara said.
CPI would launch a campaign after September 30 and march to very corner of the State with the primary objectives of bringing unity, equality and eradication of poverty, he added.
A blood donation camp was also held as a part of the function.
