KTC, KTCF spend Sunday with quarantine inmates

Following strict protocol, the Kangpokpi Town Committee (KTC) and Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship (KTCF) led by Lunseh Kipgen, Chairman KTC spent Sunday with inmates of various Institutional Quarantine Centres (IQC) within Kangpokpi District Hqrs today.
The visit to motivate the inmates of various IQCs was initiated by KTC Chairman after resuming his chair following his surveillance period in a community quarantine centre with his family few days back.
The KTC Chairman had declined the offer for home quarantine saying that law is for all irrespective of position and status and he along with his family underwent 14 days of quarantine in a CQC after returning from Arunachal Pradesh last month.
Being aware of the situation, he called for a joint meeting with town Churches Fellowship where it was decided to visit the inmates so as to motivate them to complete their surveillance period and exhibit laudable behavior during their stay in the quarantine centre.
The team including Officer-in-charge of Kangpokpi Police Station, Inspector Khogen had visited Diamond English High School, MBC Hr Sec School, Kangpokpi Government High School, Tribal Girl's Hostel, BJP Office, JNV Kangpokpi, Kanggui Christian College, Salem Academy, Yaikongpao UJB School and Tumnoupokpi Quarantine Centres.
Lunseh Kipgen greeted all the inmates while maintaining strict social distancing using PA system and motivated them to stay strong and endure any inconveniences while strictly following the laid down protocol.
He also said that while inmates in many quarantine centres complain of food and improper accommodation which in some cases are genuine, we must remember that safety and peace of mind is top priority and should be content with whatever is available if it is at least adjustable.
He exhorted the inmates to be self-disciplined while keeping in mind that the Government is also doing their best for the safety of all returnees with the community participation spearheaded by the local civil bodies including the church fellowship.
The KTCF leaders led by its Chairman, Rev K Hangshing encouraged the inmates spiritually in the local and Manipuri dialect while Evangelist Paoboi motivated them in Nepali language and also offered prayer for them.
KTC and KTCF also greeted Manipur's first quarantine baby, Emmanuel Quarantino with monetary gifts as a blessing and prayed for him and his parents.
KTC and KTCF have also been helping the Government and District Administration with regard to catering service in the town.
