New political party floated

Imphal, December 23 2015:
With a view to bring about peace and harmony and equal development in the North East, a new political party "North East India Development Party" was set up on Wednesday during a function at Sagolband Tera Loukrapam Leikai in Imphal West.
Addressing the function, NEIDP president Narengbam Samarjit said the newly floated party would fight for social justice and equal opportunities for the people of Seven Sisters based on the Gandhian values and ideals.
He said his party would devote to the task of building a democratic North East and work towards making it a 'corruption free' region.
Samarjit informed that the party would be registered with the Election Commission of India (ECI) soon.
NEIDP has 150 members, 134 office bearers which include the president, two vice presidents, four general secretaries, eight joint secretaries, one treasurer and eight representatives for each district.
