Imphal, September 01 2012:
United Committee Manipur (UCM) has slammed the State Government for attending the tripartite talk on UNC's demand for Alternative Arrangement.
It may be mentioned that the talk was held among the representatives of Government of India, Manipur Government and United Naga Council (UNC) at New Delhi on August 31 .
Lambasting the State Government in this regard, UCM observed that there is no point of sending representatives to a talk which demands a separate administration outside the Government of Manipur.
A press release issued by UCM IPR secretary Ng Deba said that the territory of Manipur is not a gift from the Government of India, it was drawn and safeguarded with the bravery and sacrifice of late forefathers of Manipur.
Maintaining that it must be always remembered that Manipuris are the people who can even sacrifice their lives for the territorial integrity, UCM cautioned that it is ready to take a serious decision with co-operation from the common people if any conclusion is brought against the wishes of the people.
UCM also decried the State Government for allegedly conceding to threats although it had assured not to attend any talk which had Alternative Arrangement as an agenda.
UCM further observed that State Government's declaration that it had reiterated its stance at the talk not to compromise with the territorial integrity of Manipur was just an eye wash.
