Imphal, October 31 2013:
Pioneers and Master Planners of KSO Complex (PMPKC), Churachandpur has expressed dismay over the alleged disrespect to the visions and dreams of the past KSO leaders who with much painstaking efforts had broke the ground for setting up of a purposeful KSO complex at Churachandpur by the incumbent leaders.
Burdened by the absence of a KSO office, the former Kuki students' leaders had run from pillars to posts in order to accomplish the dream of having a meaningful office since 2002, said a statement issued by PMPKC chairman TS Letkhosei Haokip and secretary, SL Zangboi Haokip.
The then KSO leaders had convinced Chinnieng Haokip, under terms of agreement, to bear all financial expenses in pursuing a plot for KSO complex under Dag No 3165 of Govt Khas Land of the Excise dept, Churachandpur.
Curiously, the new KSO leaders, the successors of Ts Letkhosei and Zangboi, have disregarded the terms of agreement reached with Chinnieng Haokip nor they consulted the former leaders on the matter, the statement said.
When the pioneers and master planners of KSO complex inspected the site on Oct 30, it came much to their surprise that land measuring 20x100 sq ft of the KSO plot was sold out to the adjacent pattadars, said the statement.
It categorically asked why the land had been sold and where the money had gone.
Besides, pointing out that a sum of Rs 20 lakh has been donated for the construction of KSO office, the statement queried where the money had gone.
It has also been learnt that the incumbent KSO leaders have collected Rs 20,000 each from 8/9 individuals as security deposit for accommodating them to open shops in the KSO complex after its completion, it stated.
Saying that it was not the dream of the past KSO leaders to turn the complex into a commercial one, the PMPKC demanded that the sold-out portion of the plot be restored within a week.
Urging that the sponsor must be compensated by giving due share as stated in the two agreements, the statement further demanded that leasing out KSO complex to a certain group for establishing Mini super Market must be withdrawn with immediate effect or else the land may be returned back to the owner (Govt) through the Chief Minister of Manipur via the Commissioner, Settlement Department, Government of Manipur via Director of Excise & Income Tax, Government of Manipur via Deputy Commissioner Churachandpur via the Excise Officer, Excise Department, Churachandpur district.
