Illness fund sees light of day in Ccpur

As the turf of Health Minister Phungzathang, Churachandpur on Wednesday scripted a record of sort becoming the first district to execute the recently cleared Manipur State Illness Financial Assistance, disbursing aid money to over thirty people belonging to the BPL families.
The district level head of the illness fund Jacintha Lazarus, DC Churachandpur said the scheme is based on a corpus fund of Rs 20 Lakh which can be reclaimed when exhausted.
With Churachandpur showing the way by extending the aid to 31 people with diversified cases of illness it has spent about 12 Lakh she said.
The beneficiaries, who were paid only by cheques, all received an amount of more than Rs 10,000 each.
Depending on the cases, authorities of the District Hospital has provided the estimated expenses to be incurred by the patients and based on these estimates the aids were extended said Lazarus.
Cheques were handed over to the beneficiaries by Health Minister T Phungzathang in a simple function that was attended by administrative and health officials of the district.
