Imphal, September 13 2014 :
The State Governments act of arresting members of JCILPS has been strongly condemned by the Manipur Peoples' Party (MPP), said a press release issued by the MPP.
MPP expressed that the verification drive by JCILPS volunteers and its demand for implementing ILPS in Manipur is a great step towards sustaining integrity amongst the indigenous people of Manipur.
Therefore, arresting the members of JCILPS under the direction of the State Government is not a stately act, the release added.
The people of Manipur understands that arresting the same members who were invited for a peace talk earlier by the State Government under its direction is a strategy against the indigenous people itself.
The people of Manipur feels that the Ibobi led Government takes the peoples' demand as its enemy.
This is why O Ibobi and his Government have been torturing the members of JCILPS , the release stated further.
The MPP further asserted that the ILP movement is a movement of all the indigenous people of Manipur.
It would never stop fighting for its demands.
Therefore, it is better for the State Government to solve the issue rather than trying to suppress it.
It also urged upon the State Government to resolve all the issues in the hill districts.
People refrain from going to places where law and order situation is bad.
It is the State governments' duty to maintain law and order in the State to attain a peaceful environment.
