Residential school inaugurated

A newly constructed Residential School (for boys and girls) was inaugurated today at Bendramai under Tadubi block, Senapati district.
The inaugural function was attended by Education Minister M Okendro, RD&PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa, Education (S) Secretary H Deleep and Senapati DC Jacintha Lazarus as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, Education Minister M Okendro appealed to all the people to repose their faith in the State Government's efforts which are aimed at making Manipur self-reliant in education sector.
The newly inaugurated residential school would provide formal education to boys and girls belonging to BPL families free of cost.
The residential school set up under SSA would have classes up to VIII standard.
Necessary teaching and non-teaching staff would be sent to the school before the school is upgraded so that it has classes up to X standard.
Taking due note of the shortage of power supply in Bendramai area, Okendro assured to install a 5 KV solar power plant exclusively for the residential school.
A proper playground and an approach road connecting the school to the main road would be constructed soon, Okendro announced.
Francis Ngajokpa asserted that all interior villages which are listed in decadal census would be electrified by next year.
He also appealed to all the people to cultivate a healthy habit of paying power taxes regularly.
He sought cooperation of the local people towards proper maintenance of the residential school.
H Deleep said that the residential school would be highly beneficial to students of BPL families living in remote areas.
Education(S) Director N Praveen, SSA Additional State Project Director Ng Bogendro and other officials were also present at the inaugural function.
