Rs 14 crore to be sanctioned for expansion of CIPET Imphal

Minister of Chemical and Fertilizers, Government of India Ananth Kumar on Friday said that Central Institute of Plastic Engineering Technology (CIPET) Centre at Imphal is the top leading CIPET Centre in the entire Country and many Plastic corporates prefer the students from Imphal Centre.
He said this during the inauguration of academic and hostel blocks of CIPET Imphal, Ananth were happy that many corporate companies prefer the students from CIPET Imphal Centre.
Giving the presidential speech on the occasion Minister Ananth Kumar said that Central Government has plans for more development of the CIPET Imphal centre.
He announced that central government will sanction Rs 14 crore for the expansion of the Institution of which Rs 9 crore is for the construction of 700 single bed hostel of which 350 each of boys & girls while Rs 4 crore for maintaining machinery and other infrastructure of the Institution.

He also said the Government has plans to upgrade the institution to 3500 capacity students and seeks the Government of Manipur to give another five acres of land for expansion of Institution which will be one of the biggest centres in the entire eight north eastern states of India.
He appealed to the people to join in the skill training development which can export their products in the future.
Chief Minister O Ibobi said CIPET Imphal is functioning since 1987 imparting training to not only the state youths but also to all north east states youths.
Ibobi said that the centre also extends technology support services to the aspiring entrepreneurs as well as existing entrepreneurs of the state by allowing the machineries and other facilities of CIPET Imphal to be utilized in a nominal rate.
He appealed to the entrepreneurs who are financially sound to start their business with minimum investment.
Ibobi further said as the skilled youths have demands not only in the nation but in the international level, the civil and technical infrastructure facilities of the centre have been strengthened in the 12th plan period through grants from government of India for machinery and new hostels for boys and girls with all basic facilities.
Training workshop and library cum academic block are provided under the support of North Eastern Council.
Ibobi further that new long term diploma programme and short term vocational skill development programme will be started at CIPET Imphal with help of the infrastructure to generate employment opportunities for the youth in the state and north east region.
Assam Gas Craker Project (AGCP) will be commissioned at Dibrugarh, Assam shortly and consequent development of downstream plastic industries in the region to be followed.
Chief Minister appealed to the people not to encroach in the Government areas which will give great defect in the development.
He warned the people that the government will take necessary action against the encroachment individuals.
