Although Congress party which is still in power in Manipur ruled the country for a prolonged period till last year, BJP has outdone Congress in just one year when it comes to implementation of development programmes, claimed Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Ananth Kumar.
Kumar said this during a felicitation programme of 21 BJP candidates who won the recent ADC election at the Nityaipat Chuthek office of BJP Manipur Pradesh.
Speaking at the occasion, Ananth Kumar congratulated the victorious candidates on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.
When the Congress party was in power at the Centre and the State, the country as well as the State were traversing in reverse gear.
Now the country is going full forward in top gear since the BJP came to power at the Centre.
But Congress scion Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister O Ibobi have been trying to pull the country and the State of Manipur in reverse gear, claimed the Central Minister.
The NDA Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to peace and expeditious development, said Ananth Kumar.
He then appealed to all sections of the society not to pose any hurdles while implementing development projects.
The Centre has started re-evaluating insurgency movements of the entire North East region.
Paying homage to all the jawans of Dogra Regiment who were killed in a militant ambush at Chandel recently, the Union Minister pledged that Central Government would fight back all the forces challenging the sovereignty and integrity of India.
BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba conveyed gratitude to the hill people of Manipur for electing a considerable number of BJP candidates in the ADC election held recently.
Earlier Congress party which has 48 MLAs and three MPs were running all the six ADCs.
But this time they are not in a position to form ADC in any of the six ADCs except Sadar Hills.
This is rather gratifying, Chaoba remarked.
The recent ADC election has testified that BJP has taken firm roots in all the hill districts of Manipur, he added.
