Okendro inaugurates Residential School in Senapati

Senapati, June 12 2015 :
Education Minister M Okendro formally inaugurated and dedicated to the people a newly constructed Residential School at Bendramai under Tadubi Block of Senapati district on Friday.
The school aims to provide free education to 100 students�Class 6 to Class 8�who are from economically backward families.
The school building was built under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) .
In his speech on the occasion Okendro was optimistic that such steps taken by the State Government will immensely help in producing excellent students from underprivileged areas.
He sought people's support to the Government's efforts.
Okendro informed that the State Government has a plan to set up one Residential School each in all districts under SSA.
He disclosed that 11 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas have so far been opened in the State exclusively for the girl students.
Such schools will give free education to the deprived section, he added.
The minister also promised to develop the approach road and playground of the newly constructed Residential School, apart from installing a 5 KVA solar power plant at the school campus.
Education (S) Director H Dilip, Higher Education Commissioner P Vaiphei, Director C Arthur W, Senapati Deputy Commissioner Jacintha Lazarus, Education (S) Joint Secretary Md Abdussalam, Director N Praveen, ASPD SSA/SMA Manipur Ng Bhogendra, ASPD RMSA/SIS Manipur L Nandakumar , Education Engineering Wing Chief Engineer Ch Gojendra and other top officials of the department were also present at the event.
