Imphal, June 12 2015 :
The United Naga Council (UNC) has said that villagers of Paraolon in Chandel districts have fled their homes in fear after the deadly June 4 ambush.
The UNC delegation along with representatives of Chandel Naga People Organisation (CNPO) visited Paraolon and neighbouring villages where the June 4 ambush took place.
According to the UNC leaders, the village looks deserted and majority of the villagers have fled.
Due to harsh post ambush military operation, the villagers were compelled to flee to safer places, alleged the UNC leaders.
They also said that domestic animals of Paraolon village were also starving as no one is there to tend them now.
Old people and patients are also being left behind by the fleeing villagers, said the UNC team.
They alleged that till date the Manipur Government has not sent a single officer to take stock of the situation in the area.
"That is why we say it is a communal Government," accused UNC president Gaidon Kamei.
The UNC asked the Central Government to imme- diately address the mounting problems at Paraolon area.
