Imphal, October 09 2016:
People of Kangleipak need to be wary of the incessant influx of outsiders and the relentless attempts to turn the land into a captive market.
Revolutionary groups of the land must fight collectively against the common enemy (India) and highlight the liberation movement of Manipur to the whole world.
The ongoing armed struggle is not a separatist movement.
It is a national liberation movement.
It is a resistance movement against occupation of Manipur and violation of human rights by Indian military forces, Sathy asserted.
What is most important at this juncture is transformation of the struggle into a mass movement which is participated by every son and daughter of the soil.
The world history stands as a living to the fact that all national liberation movements achieved victory only when they are transformed into people's movement/war.
India recognises and supports liberation movements waged in other countries if these movements serve the geo-political and other interests of India.
However, the Government of India does not recognise the right to freedom of the peoples of the North East region including Kangleipak and Kashmir which were merged into the Indian Union in contravention of international laws and covenants.
Even though India claims to be the biggest country in the world, the Government of India has been committing genocide and all kinds of atrocities upon the people of the region by imposing draconian laws like AFSPA 1858, alleged the rebel leader.
Although India has been claiming that the armed struggle of Kashmiri people is instigated by Pakistan, it is a legitimate national liberation movement like the one seen in contemporary Kangleipak,
continued the statement.
The Kashmir issue is one of the oldest agenda of the United Nations.
In their efforts to suppress the liberation movement of Kashmiri people, Indian military forces killed 90,776 Kashmiri people between January 1989 and February 2006 including 6817 cases of custodial killings, it alleged.
Despite all the repressive measures unleashed by Indian military forces, the national liberation movement has been gaining more and more strength.
While strongly condemning the alleged imperialistic policies of the Government of India, K Sathy said that PREPAK fully supports the national liberation movement of Kashmiri people.
There is a growing need on the part of the common masses to introspect whether certain movements waged by some sections at the behest of adversary agents are challenging the pluralistic character of the land, it continued.
The outfit then paid befitting tributes to all the people who have laid down their lives in the course of the liberation movement.
