Imphal, July 03 2020:
BJP Manipur Pradesh president Prof S Tikendra has stated that no condition would be applied if any ex-candidate or anyone wishes to join the party.
After ex-MLA of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC RK Anand joined the BJP yesterday, Oinam Malesh who fought the last State Assembly election in the same Assembly segment on NEIDP ticket joined the saffron party today.
Oinam Malesh was given a warm reception at the party's Nityaipat Chuthek office.
Speaking at the reception function, Prof S Tikendra claimed that BJP is the largest political party in the world with the highest number of members.
The NDA Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already completed the first year of its second term.
There is no element of surprise when former members/politicians of BJP who quit the party under compelling circumstances come back to the party.
It is homecoming and a natural process, Prof Tikendra claimed.
More and more people are joining BJP because they believe in the party's philosophy, commitment, ideology and tradition.
There is no pre-condition for any one to join BJP, said the State unit president.
Some people asked if they would be given BJP tickets after joining the party.
In such situations, they were explained in clear terms that the BJP Manipur Pradesh is not the sole or ultimate authority, added Prof Tikendra.
Members and leaders of BJP may have differences of opinion but none of them would ever compromise the party's principle, he said.
Claiming that BJP is growing stronger both in the State and at the Centre, Tikendra appealed to one and all to join the party.
