Political unrest will be resolved soon: Biren

Chief Minister N Biren has categorically stated that the political unrest seen in the State would be resolved very soon.
Speaking to media persons at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport this afternoon, Biren said that the resignation letters submitted by the four NPP Ministers have not been accepted.
He said a positive solution would be reached soon.
On being enquired about the portfolios to be given to the NPP Ministers and possible Ministry reshuffle, the Chief Minister said that BJP Central leaders do not usually interfere in such matters.
Yet Biren maintained that it was his duty to seek advice and suggestion from Central leaders as BJP is a National party.
Notably, Biren landed at Imphal at 4.30 pm today after holding talks with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National president JP Nadda for two consecutive days at Delhi.
On the other hand, NPP Minister L Jayantakumar said that NPP's position would be known after Chief Minister N Biren returns from Delhi.
Speaking at a function held at New Checkon today, Jayantakumar while noting that N Biren had talked with Central leaders at Delhi, said that they would wait and see what instructions the Central leaders gave to Biren and what they would do next.
Soon after Biren's arrival at the airport, his swab sample was collected for COVID-19 test.
He waited for the test result at the airport's lounge till 7 pm.
Later, Biren showed to media persons a message sent on his mobile which said that his sample tested negative.
Biren also conveyed Amit Shah and JP Nadda's gratitude to the people of Manipur for electing the BJP candidate to the State's lone Rajya Sabha seat.
Regarding the Z category security given to him, the Chief Minister said that he came to know about it only when he met the Union Home Minister.
The Chief Minister was received by Thanlon AC MLA Vungzagin Valte at the airport.
Congress MLA RK Imo who accompanied the Chief Minister to Delhi came back in the same chartered flight.
