The National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has taken up necessary steps to build a new bailey bridge in place of Chirakhong bailey bridge bear Nungdolan, along National Highway 37 (Imphal-Jiribam road).
According to an official source from NHIDCL, the tender process for the construction of the new bailey bridge is nearly complete.
The source also informed that a new bailey bridge will also be constructed in place of the bailey bridge near Makru bridge and added that the bailey bridges will be constructed to last more than two/three years taking into account the transformation works of the National Highway 37 (Imphal-Jiribam road) into a four lane National Highway.
The source explained that plans for the construction of permanent RCC bridges are in place but will be implemented only after the expansion works have been completed successfully.
