Cong ups demand to disclose FA details

To take the Indo-Naga peace process to its conclusion, the Framework Agreement was signed between the NSCN IM and the Government of India, but it must neither affect the territorial integrity of Manipur nor be a source of disintegration, said former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi.
Speaking to reporters at the office of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), O Ibobi informed that the territorial integrity of Manipur should be protected while adding that he had been telling the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister not to create problems for others in an effort to solve the problem of a particular organisation.
The former CM said that in Nagaland, the NPF Government had been talking about integrating Naga-inhab-ited areas while taking various resolutions at its Assembly.
The NPF had been also insisting the Centre to chalk out the final solution to the Naga issue under the Framework Agreement, and added that several factions of the Nagas have come together in recent times.
Given such a reality, it has become imperative to know the contents of the Framework Agreement and the Congress has been demanding the same, said the former Chief Minister.
He said his party has no personal problems with NSCN (IM) or the NPF Government.
O Ibobi further said that the Congress is not against the Framework Agreement but rather welcomes any step that would bring an enduring solution.
However, he added, his party would never allow any step that would affect the administrative and financial autonomy and the cultural integration of Manipur.
The former CM also revealed that through President Ram Nath Kovind the Congress had submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister to disclose the contents of the Framework Agreement.
He clarified that the submission of memorandum did not mean his party will not take part in the drafting of the all political parties' memorandum that is to be completed and submitted to the Prime Minister and Home Minister.
With the new year on the horizon, O Ibobi wished that the BJP Government will take up more developmental works, while adding in the same breath that BJP should also look into the process of police recruitment.
He asserted all should encourage the BJP in bringing about a corruption-free Government.
MPCC (I) president TN Haokip who was present said that on October 25, the Chief Secretary had issued an order for the to remove five Parliamentary Secretaries, namely, Leishangthem Susindro Meitei and Soibam Subhaschandra of BJP, and Khashim Vashum, K Leishiyo and Awangbow Newmai of Naga People's Front.
However, the party president said they continue to be Parliamentary Secretaries, which has created confusion.
He-added they must be removed from the post under Article 192 of the Constitution by the Governor.
