A statement issued by Jiri College Employees Association (JCEA), Jiribam general secretary L Jaminikanta Singh stated that the staff of Jiri College have not received their salaries for almost a month, after it became a Government college.
The association also submitted a memo randum to the chief Minister and Education Minister through Jiribam DC. The Jiri College was established in 1981 and it became a Government college in 2016 and the staff of the college have not getting, salaries for almost one year due to the negligence of the department concerned and delay in file process.
The prolonged pending of salaries would cause immense problems for the most of staff, especially the teachers are from Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal , Bishnupur and Cachar, Assam.
The association urged the State Government as well as the department concerned tc hasten the file process and release the pend-ing salaries of the staff at the earliest.
