Pallel drugs haul case of 2013 : Court hears submission of CBI 10

Special Judge Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (ND and PS) Manipur, today, heard the submission statement of the Investigation Officer of CBI as prosecution witness in connection with the two absconding accused individuals involved in the October 3, 2013, Pallel drug haul case.
The IO, during his submission, mentioned that police and even the official CBI team have conducted search for the two accused persons identified as Zaminthang Tuboi of Moreh and Letminlal Haokip, at their residences but the duo have been absconding till today and their missing reports have also been published in both local and National dailies and prayed that now the Court can declare them as proclaimed absconders.
In the meantime, following the completion of submission of all the relevant papers in connection with the case before the Special Judge (ND and PS) Manipur, the case is now under process for charge consideration.
The trial of the said case has remained without any progress due to the failure of the CBI to submit the relevant documents but now, with the complete documents, there will be possibility for speedy disposal of the case by the Court, said a source.
It may be mentioned that a huge consignment of drugs (Pseudoephedrine tablets) were seized by a team of Manipur police commando at Pallel check post on October 3, 2013, from the possession of a former Defence PRO and other 16 co-accused.
Later the case was investigated by the CBI and charge sheets were submitted against the 17 accused individuals, including Ajay Choudhury, Dhrubajyoti Das, Madho Das, Utpal Debnath, Banamali Talukdar, Tiken Deka, Ajay Kumar Bhartia, Rajneesh Kumar, Ng Brojen, Lhunkhohao Haokip, RK Babloo, Diskant Goel, K Ananda, Seikholen Haokip.
