Demanding the lifting of "Keep in Abeyance" order imposed upon them and smooth continuation of MGEL process, members of All Manipur Newly Appointed PWD Employees ' Association (AMNAPEA) today took out a protest rally from the PWD office at Khoyathong.
However, the protestors were stopped at Khoyathong Traffic Junction by police and prevented from proceeding further.
Speaking to reporters, AMNAPEA vice-president Y Chandrasekhar alleged that the Government has exploited them by putting several restrictions on their service in the form of different orders many a times after they joined the Department and even after ID cards were issued.
He said that the result of the DPC for Grade III and IV in PWD Department was declared on December 31, 2016 .
Z However, on March 16 of this year, the transfer and posting orders of the newly appointed employees issued after the daclaration of the DPC result were-cancelled in the name of reviewing it Again on 20, a reposting order was issued allowing them to join in the respective divisions, he said.
Claiming that on April 29 a "Keep in Abeyance" order was issued upon their service leaving them high and dry, Chandrasekhar warned of taking up different forms of intense agitation along with like minded CSOs if the Government fails toprovide positive response to the demand at the earliest.
