PILs on National Highways heard

Division Bench High Court of Manipur, heard the submission of the contractor who have executed the construction works of National Highway 2, Imphal to Dimapur road, today, and also heard the submission of Additional Chief Engineer, PWD, that the tender process is on for filling up the potholes from Imphal to Kanglatongbi.
The PIL hearing of the National Highways of the State was held before the Division Bench High Court of Manipur, comprising of Acting Chief Justice N Kotiswar and Justice Kh Nobin, High Court of Manipur.
Complying with the directives of the High Court, three contractors, Ashiho Pfiize, W Sonajit and Khelendra Singh, who executed works from Mao to Maram, Maram to Senapati and Senapati to Taphou respectively, submitted before the Division Bench that the filling of potholes at their respective areas along the Imphal-Dimapur road, was completed during the month of August and September.
Additional Chief Engineer of PWD, Arun Singh was also present in person and submitted that for filling the potholes from Imphal to Kanglatongbi, the Department has already floated tenders and it may take around two months time to finalise the same.
Ibochouba Singh of M/S Bhartia Infra Project Limited, submitted that the remaining works taken up by their firm for the road construction along the Imphal-Dimapur road will be completed within a week.
Retired Chief Engineer of PWD, Joykumar Singh was also present in person before the Court after being requested by the Court.
The Court, after hearing the submission of the contractors and Additional Chief Engineer PWD, listed the next date for further PIL hearing on November 29 .
