Thoubal, February 07 2022:
The people of the State want the return of the Congress led Government as the vision and promises of the BJP before the 2017 poll turned out to be an eyewash to deceive the people, said MPCC working president K Meghachandra.
The Congress leader and MLA of Wangkhem AC was attending the flag hosting programme of INC candidate of Andro AC Keisham Ningthemjao Singh at the latter's residence at Yairipok Top in the presence of senior leader of All India Congress Committee, Imran Kidwai; social activist Konthoujam Prakash and noted leaders of MPCC.
Addressing a gathering at Yairipok Laimanai multipurpose hall in connection with the flag hoisting ceremony, K Meghachandra said that the BJP Government is only good at lip service.
The saffron party had deceived lakhs of people by promising to credit Rs 15 lakh by forcing them to open zero balance accounts, he said while adding that the party had also failed to generate employment for more than 2 lakh youths.
Even after nearing its completion of 5 years, the BJP led Government had failed to complete the recruitment processes of IRB, said the Wangkhem AC MLA.
As none of the promises and assurances were kept or put in action, students, farmers and all regardless of their background have started realizing that whatever the BJP had said was nothing but a lie to lure them into voting for the party, he remarked.
Moreover, the price hike in essential commodities have skyrocketed causing a wide range of inconveniences.
As such, the ensuing 12th State Assembly election is the right time, the saffron party is taught a befitting lesson, he said.
