Speaking on the occasion, RK Ibungosana said that drugs have a big impact on the lives of the students.
So, the students need to stay away from drugs and strive to become responsible citizens of the society to play an important part in its development.
RK Nolinikanta observed that a person who is into drugs has not gone into it to be an addict in the first place.
It is out of peer pressure, temptation, heartbreaks; etc that an individual started laying his/her hands on drugs.
When these drugs start taking hold of us, we begin to lose our body and self, our career, and we also lost the trust and confidence of our friends, relatives and even near and dear ones.
We are also exposed to the possibility of infected ourselves with various deadly diseases like hepatitis-C, hepatitis-B and HIV & AIDS, he added.
Ph Phoni said that we are being led astray by drugs and the only way to keep away from drugs is to be aware of its harmful effects.
The Manipuri society is today being engulfed in the menace of drugs, specially among the youths and so it is high time we all stay away from drugs.
A quiz programme was also conducted as a part of the awareness programme.
The quiz programme was sponsored by RK Ibungosana.
