Imphal, August 02 2012:
The authority of Lilong Haoreibi College has been accused of collecting semester fee in excess of the prescribed amount, charged Student Welfare Association of Kangleipak (SWAK) .
Speaking to newspersons at its Kwakeithel office today, SWAK organisation secretary BC Yunush Atiqur claimed that the matter came to light when a SWAK team visited the College recently.
Atiqur maintained that students admitted to 1st, 3rd and 5th semesters for the 2012-13 academic session had to pay Rs 200 each more than the prescribed amount.
Apart from the said irregularity in the fee amount, the College had neither admission committee in place nor had the session commenced compared to other institutions where classes are being conducted smoothly.
Further stating that admission process was still on in Lilong Haoreibi College, the SWAK functionary demanded that the excess fee amount be refunded to the students concerned.
More inspections would be conducted in the coming days at other institutions also, he affirmed.
