Imphal, August 02 2012:
Sticking to its demand that the killing of 900 innocent Kukis, seizure of over 360 Kuki villages/ land and displacement of over 100,000 Kukis by the NSCN (IM) be settled first before any kind of agreement is reached between the NSCN (IM) and the Government of India, the Kuki Inpi, the apex body of the Kukis, has urged the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee through an open letter to sympathetically give orders that the just demand of the Kuki Inpi precedes any possible agreement between GoI and NSCN (IM) .
In an open letter to the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, A Lenthang, Kuki Inpi Kumpi, and President Kuki Inpi, Assam and Holkhomang Haokip, Ex-MP and present Thumop (Advisor) to Kuki Inpis, stated that the United Naga Council served Quit Notice to all Kukis on October 22, 1992 and sent the copies to all State Government Departments in Manipur, and to the Central Government.
The notice was also widely published in the media with a strong warning that UNC and the NSCN(I-M) would kill the Kukis if they did not conform to the warning.
A year later, the NSCN(I-M), in line with the warning, murdered 900 Kukis, uprooted 360 villages, and displaced over 100,000 Kukis who are still scattered in various towns, cities etc.
It further said that the Kuki Inpi made repeated appeal for peaceful settlement before any kind of agreement is signed by the Government of India with NSCN(I-M) through five Prime Ministers namely PV Narasimhao Rao, HD Gowda, IK Gujral, Atal Behari Vajpayee, and the incumbent Manmohan Singh.
Surprisingly, none has responded to the appeal, the Kuki Inpi leaders said while adding that the Kuki Inpi representatives were even denied personal interview in Delhi after waiting for months.
A PIL case was filed at the Supreme Court, but was not admitted, it added.
Persistently, the Kuki Inpi leaders also met Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram on his visit to Imphal on December 15, 2010 wherein the Kuki Inpi reiterated its demand to him.
"More surprisingly, delegates of the Kuki Inpi were completely ignored by the Union Minister (Home) in his second visit on November 2-3, 2011 to Manipur.
He had visited Senapati, Ukhrul and Tamenglong District Headquarters, having closed door meetings with Naga leaders.
The outcome of which meetings seems to be what the Seven Sisters Post mentioned "Supra State body" for the Nagas to be given as Christmas gift of 2011.If it is correct and official, automatically, it has to be taken that the innocent Kuki civilians of India were killed as instigated by the Government of India," it stated.
The Kuki Inpi again met the PM on December 4, 2011 at Imphal restating the same for peaceful settlement of the Gross Crimes committed by NSCN(I-M).
Howevr, nothing has ever been done affected.
Reiterating that sympathetical orders be given that the just demand of the Kuki Inpi must precede any possible agreement between Government of India and NSCN(I-M), the Kuki Inpi letter asserted that it would never accept any kind of agreement possibly signed by Govt of India and NSCN(I-M) if the crimes committed against Kukis is not settled first.
