Imphal, March 01 2022: Multiple instances of gunfire and stone pelting have been reported at the residences of BJP workers and supporters at Keirao Makting and Urup under Keirao Constituency since the end of the first phase of 12th Manipur State Assembly election.

Unknown miscreants allegedly attacked Md Suraj Khan's home at Keirao Makting Awang Leikai last night by pelting stones and firing shots.

It may be noted that Md Suraj Khan was posted as a BJP polling agent at polling station 6/25 Keirao Makting Junior High School yesterday.

Owing to the gunfire, the GI sheets used for roofing Md Suraj's house bore several bullet holes.

Fortunately, the alleged attack did not leave any casualties.

Speaking to media persons today, Md Suraj Khan accused workers of National People's Party candidate of Keirao AC of being behind the attack.

Alleging that NPP workers continue to threaten BJP workers in Keirao Makting and Urup, he further said that a written complaint had been filed at Irilbung police station to take up appropriate action at the earliest.

Md Suraj Khan added that instances of threats and similar attacks have also occurred at the residences of BJP workers at polling station 6/19 Urup Awang Leikai and 6/20 Urup Muslim.
