In a significant development that could create uneasy situation for the police top brass the one man Inquiry Commission probing the 2002 ambush at Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has cited security arrangement lapses to the incident.
According to a highly placed source, the probe conducted by Principal Secretary RC Mishra is informed to have detected lapses in security arrangement along the route where the Chief Minister had to travel for and after the inspection tour at Salungpham area of Thoubal dist.
The report submitted to the State Government includes recorded comments of security personnel deployed at several locations on the day and suggestions to prevent recurrence of such incident, revealed the source.
It is pertinent to add that two security escort of the CM�s convoy were killed when armed activists of suspected underground outfit attacked the ministerial team at Wangjing.
On the other hand, the State Cabinet would soon discuss on the recommendations forwarded by officials of the judicial Inquiry into the alleged rape and subsequent suicide of Jiribam school girl - Sanjita.
