Imphal, September 26 2015 :
Thadou Students' Association (TSA), Chandel has reiterated that Lhukhosei Zou was not a part of the organising committee of the ADC swearing in function wherein Anal traditional shawl was used as table cloth.
In a statement, TSA, Chandel said that raking up the issue after it was settled in the Anal customary court with the intervention of CEO/ADC, Chandel smacks of malicious intent.
It reiterated that election of Lhukhosei Zou as the chairman of ADC Chandel was done in accordance with norms and procedures for election of chairman as per Act and Rules of the Council with the full backing of 14 ADC members.
Since L Zou was elected Chairman of the ADC uncontested, the question of 'self-elected' is baseless and unfounded, the TSA said.
It said that the election was held in Imphal due to security reason.
Lhukhosei, as a Chairman of the ADC in the previous term, always ensured that benefits of development projects were shared equally on need base according to the time and nature of the schemes, it said.
TSA clarified that it neither supports nor opposes the Congress led Council in Chandel as it is not involved in politics.
The statement was made on the basis of the veracity of facts.
At the same time, Zou Sangnaupang Pawlpi (Zou Students' Association) has endorsed the statement of TSA and said that ALT had made unfounded allegations against Lhukhosei Zou with the intention to tarnish the image of Lhukhosei Zou.
