President winds up State visit

Imphal, April 16 2013:
After winding up his 2-day visit to Manipur, President of India Dr Pranab Mukherjee today left the state for Gangtok.
He left the state by a special flight of Indian Air Force K 5014 at 9:35 am.
The President arrived in Imphal yesterday by the same flight.
During his trip to the state, Dr Mukherjee participated at the diamond jubilee celebration of Adim Jati Sikhsha Ashram, Chingmeirong here.
He also inaugurated an amity hall and another girls' hostel, apart from laying the foundation stones for tribal boys' hostel and tribal working women's hostel.
He halted a night at the Raj Bhavan.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and his Deputy Gaikhangam, and ministers, MLAs, Chief Secretary and DGP got at the Imphal Airport a little bit earlier before his arrival at the there to bid farewell to him.
The President was accompanied by Governor Gurbachan Jagat to the airport.
Before the parting, a team of Manipur Police was readied to give a guard of honour to the President there, but it was cancelled due to rain.
Dr Mukherjee will arrive at Bagdogra Airport in West Bengal on Tuesday and from there he will fly to Gangtok in an MI-17 chopper of IAF, official sources said.
