Imphal, December 21, 2013:
Saying that some people have been using SSA head-office as a place of revelry, FREINDS has urged the authority concerned to take up befitting action against those individuals who desecrated sanctity of the office.
Speaking to media persons at their Keishampat office today, FREINDS' human resource department secretary Ng Iboyaima Mangang said that the SSA office of Babupara is turned into a place of revelry once the Sun sets.
Acting on the complaint of some employees that the office is turned into a bar every evening, a special team of FREINDS visited the office yesterday.
The team found a room located in the rear portion of the building guarded by a Grade IV employee and no one was allowed entry.
Inside the room, some people were found drinking liquor.
At first, the Grade IV employee tried all tricks to prevent the team from entering inside.
However, the team somehow made their way into the room.
Inside the room, some officers were found drinking liquor, Iboyaima conveyed.
He said that SSA is a novel scheme which is helping in a big way in imparting formal education to poor students of rural areas between 6 and 14 years.
But with top officials of the office indulging in revelry inside the office, sanctity of the office has been destroyed.
The matter demands immediate attention of the authority concerned.
He appealed to the authority concerned to take up befitting action against the irresponsible officers and staff within five days.
