Landslide in Nagaland cuts off Imphal-Dimapur road

Imphal, August 21 2015 :
Imphal-Dimapur road section of National Highway-2 has been cut off after a huge landslide measuring around 100 ft occurred between Phesama and Kuima in Nagaland.
A report from Kohima said that the huge landslide occurred around 3 pm of August 19 due to incessant rains in Nagaland State.
Phesama and Kuima are located about 10 km from Kohima.

Several buses and trucks have remained stranded along the highway since the landslide, added the report.
The situation has been worsened as another huge landslide occurred at the same place on Thursday at around 6 pm.
Nagaland Police, district administration, BRO, NCC of St Joseph's College Jakhama, volunteers and members of Kesama Youth Organisation are making efforts to ensure normal traffic movement along the highway.
