MUSU extends monetary aid to Robinhood's family

Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) along with teaching and non- teaching staffs, students and Dean of Students' Welfare RK Hemakumar of the varsity on Friday has extended monetary help to the family of late Sapam Robinhood who was brutally killed by security forces on July 8 last.
The team also staged a rally from Lairikyengbam Leikai Machin to Robinhood's residence and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
Miyamgi Yaipha Nupi Lup, Khongman Zone IV and V, Thoubal Khunou Apunba Lup, Singjamei Wangma Pebiya Pandit Leikai Meira Paibi and Pebiya Pandit Leikai Youth Development Organisation, Punya Group of Companies also provided monetary help to the family of Sapam Robinhood.
Meanwhile, following the appeal from JCILPS, locals of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC on Friday thronged the residence of local MLA RK Anand at Kwakeithel Akham Leikai and submitted a memorandum to him on the demand of ILPS.
Besides, Nongmeibung Meira Paibee Lup and local club members of the area locked the SDO Porompat office and two other Government offices in the area.
The protesters said that the offices must remain shut until ILPS is implemented in Manipur.
Womenfolk of Nambol bazar also staged a sit-in by blocking the road halfway on Friday.
Members of College of Music and Performing Arts, Nambol staged a sit-in-protest in front of Public Theatre, Nambol.
Students and faculties of Huyen Lallong Thang-Ta Academy also staged a sit-in at Keirao.
ILP supporters of Wangoi bazar, Keishamthong, Thoubal also formed human chains and shouted several slogans demanding ILPS in their respective areas.
Further, democratic protests demanding the implementation of ILPS in the state and punishment to the police officer responsible for the death of Sapam Robinhood could be seen in many areas of the valley districts.
