Imphal, April 26 2022:
Manipur Technical University Students' Adhoc Committee has reacted strongly against what the Committee has deemed repeated instances of intrusion by All Manipur Muslim Students Organisation (AMMSO) in the internal matters of MTU through news media, most recently on April 25 .
In a statement, the Committee has urged AMMSO to avoid any future dissemination of false propaganda against the VC.
Failing this, the Committee will launch a series of agitation against AMMSO, the statement cautioned.
The Committee said that the Search Committee had followed appropriate guidelines and appointed Dr Bhabeswar Tongram as the VC of MTU.
The propagation of false propaganda against Dr Bhabeswar Tongbram is akin to besmirching the reputation of the VC and the University, the statement added.
Manipur Technical University Students' Adhoc Committee also stated that Dr Bhabeswar Tongbram had accumulated many achievements for the college since assuming charge as the VC.
Some of these include Atal Institute Innovation Ranking under Niti Aayog, IQAC, Training and placement cell revamping, collaborative projects under MeitY and projects with MTU JNIMS, RIMS, NIELIT, PGI, among others.
Aside from this, many collaborative efforts between MTU and other institutions have also been undertaken, as per the statement.
The statement further claimed that students of MTU can witness the efforts of the VC and the projects undertaken by him for the benefit of the University.
And as such, the Committee has urged AMMSO to refrain from spreading false propaganda about the VC in the future or causing any inconveniences in the smooth functioning of the University.
Further the Committee has also appealed the State Government to punish the individuals responsible for propagating such distasteful falsehoods.
