Governor interacts with Yuva Sangam team

Imphal, March 25 2023:
Governor Anusuiya Uikey had an interactive session with the Yuva Sangam team from Central University (CU) Punjab who are on a weeklong exposure tour team under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) initiative today evening.
The team was accompanied by the faculties and officers of the Manipur University (MU) .
During the session, the Governor shared about her involvement in social and political activities right from the college days.
She also highlighted the importance of "Yuva Sangam" under EBSB, an initiative to celebrate India's diversity and spirit of oneness.
A press note by the Public Relations Officer in-charge, MU shared that the Yuva Sangam team started the day with a Yoga session in the morning at the Yoga Lab, Department of Physical Education and Sports Science, MU.
The Yoga session was followed by a campus tour of Manipur University where the team visited many locations inside the varsity including different hostels, museum, Old Palace, archaeological sites, Departmental Blocks etc.
Later the CU Punjab delegates had a session with Aribam Shyam Sharma, renowned filmmaker at the Mass Communication Department.
Documentary film directed by Aribam Shyam Sharma "Yelhou Jagoi" which won the National Film Award for Best Anthropological/Ethnographic Film at the 43rd National Film Awards was also screened.
A formal reception ceremony was held at the Court Hall, MU graced by Vice-Chancellor Professor N Lokendra Singh, in the presence of Deans, HoDs, Yuva Sangam Committee Members, Officers of MU and media persons.
The VC accorded a warm welcome to the delegates and presented traditional shawls to them.
Lastly, the Team paid a visit to Marjing Polo Complex, located at the hilltop of Heingang Ching in Imphal East district.
