JE vaccination programme conducted

Bamol Leikai Youth Club Yairipok (BYCY) in association with CHC Yairipok conducted Japanese Encephalitis (JE) vaccination programme at its premises yesterday to protect against the infection of Japanese B Encephalitis (JE) virus spread by the stingy bite of infected mosquitoes.
During the programme, general secretary BYCY Hidam Sanjoy said that the vaccination programme was taken up after a report confirmed that a local from Bamol Leikai has been infected with Japanese B Encephalitis (JE) virus.
As a precautionary measure to protect the local populace from further infection, the programme has been conducted, he added.
The vaccination programme will be conducted for the next couple of days at the other location of Bamol Leikai.
A total of 650 villagers have been vaccinated on the first day itself yesterday out of the targeted 1000.The programme will be continued at others club of Bamol Leikai for the next few days.
Meanwhile, Young Star Club Yairipok Bamol Leikai in association with a team of CHC Yairipok, ASHA and Anganwadi workers conducted mass vaccination programme against JE today at the campus of Kid's Mold School.
About 665 locals have been vaccinated in the programme.
