Imphal, August 24 2018:
Imphal East Deputy Commissioner Th Chitra Devi has launched North East District Resources Plan (NEDRP) portal at Panchayat Bhavan, DC Complex, Porompat today.
The launching function was graced by the DC as chief guest' while Manipur Remote Sensing Applications Centre (MARSAC) Director Dr N Randhir Singh and Imphal East ADM/ADC Shamim Ahmad Shah attended as president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the function, Chitra informed that NEDRP portal is a software that was jointly developed by North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC) and MARSAC by taking a great initiative and with lots of time.
She said that the portal will be quite beneficial to the people of the State, particularly in Imphal East district while informing that one can access the portal and gather all relevant and important information.
Pointing out that making a Detailed Project Report (DPR) of a scheme or a programme is very difficult and time consuming as it requires collection of lots of data, she observed that the portal can be used as a reliable source for the said purpose while the factor of time consumption in making DRPs will be relatively reduced.
It contains almost all information, be it for horticulture, agriculture, geographic locations or whatever in a secure form, she said and added that it will also help in avoiding creation of duplicate documents.
Contending that time to time update will be the most important task required in the effective functioning of the portal, the DC noted that district administration has a pivotal role in this regard.
She appealed all staff related to district administration to be actively involved in the task of updating information in the portal in order to render effective service by the portal.
