Lamka, April 16 2013:
Health Minister Phungzathang Tonsing, who lost his better-half a couple of years ago, is all set to host a historic feast with over 70 mammals at his residence here tomorrow to commemorate the dedication of a memorial mausoleum complete with a park.
Chief Minister Okaram Ibobi Singh, his wife and several of Tonsing's cabinet colleagues, a minister from Mizoram and other top ranking officials are in the guest lists alongside a crowd which organisers estimated to be about ten-thousand.
A grand ceremonial lunch has been planned with 14 Mithuns, 13 Cows, 22 Pigs, 8 Goats, 9 Sheeps, 120 Kgs of fish and 11 local Chickens will be on the menu.
Addressing local reporters here this evening, Tonsing said he has been planning to erect something impressive and beautiful to immortalize his beloved wife, whom he said was everything and anything for him, but did not expect the overwhelming response it has drawn from his supporters.
'My dream was to inaugurate the mausoleum, of course, with a feast but with a cow, a pig and a goat.
As it turns out today it will be more than ten times of what I have in mind,' he said.
Passionately recalling the times he shared with his wife Chhungi, the love he possess for her, and vacuum she has left in his life Tonsing even dubbed her as his own Shakespeare.
Struggling hard to control his emotion, he had even shared some of their rarely shared stories including how he met his wife, initial stages of their romance and that of his friends and villagers preventing the newly wedded couple from sharing bed or rest by continuing non-stop the wedding celebration for two days consecutively.
With thousands of his followers queuing up to donate their might or sharing their love for his wife, Tonsing has not restricted his invite for the occasion through personal invitation cards but did so through the newspapers, both local and the state papers in an attempt to include the masses.
A dedicated video album and a Souvenir will be released as well besides the Mausoleum and the Chhungi Memorial Park.
