Imphal, January 07 2017:
Mukul Roy, vice president of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has said that the party is ready to contest the coming election in all the 60 ACs.
Speaking to media persons today at the party's office at Haokip Veng, Sanjenthong, he said that AITC has made every possible preparation to contest the poll in all the 60 kendras for the coming State Assembly election.
He pointed out that the AITC had earlier urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to announce the date of the election after taking the into account the law and order situation of the State.
Taking jabs at BJP led Central Government, he said that an additional burden of demonetisation has been piled upon the people of the State who are suffering due to the scarcity of edible items and essential commodities due to the economic blockade.
Alleging that the demonetisation move is a failure, he pointed out that it has been carried out twice in the past and also in other countries but without success and alleged that the BJP led NDA Government is blabbering about cashless transactions and digitisation in order to hide their failure.
Mukul Roy said," Even developed Nations like US, UK and Japan does not have cashless societies so the Centre's demonetisation step is a complete failure in India" and added that West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee had also raised many objections due to this loophole.
A country wide dharna will be observed on January 11 against demonetisation, he added.
"Once, PM Narendra Modi said that he would repair and improve the conditions of the State Highways within 100 days of BJP's rule but nothing has changed till now", Mukul said.
He said that AITC will consider other political party's offer to form pre poll alliance urged the people of the State to extend their support.
AITC State president Kim Gangte, who was also present at the meet declared that T Robindro and N Gunindro have been appointed as the working president and the vice president respectively.
