Imphal, July 31 2013:
"The value of life of a person is priceless.
A man needs to understand the value of life of other people", said Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh during an interaction programme with Non-Resident Manipuris today.
Representatives of a joint forum of Manipuris staying in countries like US, UK, Korea, Taiwan etc called Knowledge Exchange Network met the CM urging him to adopt path breaking services in the State like the emergency services being adopted in other countries.
Ngangbam Santikumar of Manipur, who have bagged the Mr World title and possessed the citizenship of Taiwan told CM that there is no difference of people's status during rendering emergency services in Taiwan.
No one raise their voice when an ambulance block the road for an hour and does its duty to save a life there.
The people there helped a lot during emergency services, and when an accident occured the police arrives at the spot within a few minutes.
Such a service can be functional in Manipur too, Santikumar added.
The CM expressed, "Such service can be adopted in Manipur too, there are many possible things that the Government can do and the people need to provide support.
The value of life has no difference even if the person is rich or poor" .
"Possession of civic sence is necessary and we should not discriminate or abuse downtrodden people even if we are rich or we do a higher job", Ibobi added.
The representatives of Knowledge Exchange Network presented a book titled 'Emergency services in Manipur' to the CM during the occasion.
The book describes in detail about the emergencies services rendered in other countries.
