Mao by pass ready for trucks

Imphal, July 31 2013:
Decks have been cleared for movement of a total of 137 vehicles including oil tankers and LPG bullet tankers along Mao- Pudunamai- Kedima bypass road.
An official source from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) at Chingmeirong said that 107 oil tankers and 30 LPG bullet tankers have been lined up in front of 69 Bn CRPF Gate at Mantripukhri.
The vehicles will leave their station after midnight with CRPF escort.
Meanwhile, 15 trucks have reached Imphal today through the same bypass route inspite of incessant rain in Mao area.
Eight other vehicles have also moved towards Dimapur along the route today.
At the same time, a huge boulder along the Meri-Kedima bypass road was destroyed today.
As such, the road is in an accessible condition for heavy vehicles.
PWD officials stationed in the Mao-Kedima area said that the Meri-Kedima road would be readied for used alternately in case of any emergency along the Mao-Kedima road.
