Imphal, February 17 2022:
Two more deaths, 103 new positive cases, including two Central security personnel, daily positivity rate of 5 percent and 6471 dosage administered marked the State in the last 24 hours.
The two deceased persons were from Imphal West and were not vaccinated.
They were also suffering from co-morbidities, said the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
With the addition of two more deaths, the total number of people the virus has claimed has grown to 2090 .
The 101 new cases from amongst the general population are from Imphal East (16), Imphal West (34), Thoubal (12), Bishnupur (8), Kakching (7), Kangpokpi (4), Tamenglong (3), Tengnoupal (1), Ukhrul (6), Noney (1), Senapati (2), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (6) .
The 103 new cases were detected out of a total sample of 2059 to take the daily positivity rate to 5 percent, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement added that their positive status was confirmed at RIMS (8), JNIMS (12) and other centres (83) .
The number of active cases is 2094 including 47 Central security personnel.
Eight out of the 16 total districts registered daily positivity rate of 5 percent and above in the last 24 hours, with Kangpokpi at the top (12.9 percent), Kakching and Noney (12.5 percent each), Ukhrul (10.1 percent), Thoubal (8.2 percent), Bishnupur (7.4 percent), Imphal West (5.4 percent) and Imphal East (5.2 percent) .
With 103 more testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State has risen to 1,36,239 including 5001 Central security personnel, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
On the other hand, 151 persons were discharged from home isolation (120), RIMS (8), JNIMS (1) and CCCs (22) to take the number of recovered cases to 1,32,055 including 4947 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate has slightly improved to 96.93 percent.
On February 16, 6471 Covid doses were administered taking the total doses administered so far to 26,48,734 including 11,04,214 second dose and 52,880 precautionary dose.
So far 47.17 percent of the eligible population have received the second dose while 60.43 percent have received the first shot.
Imphal West tops the vaccination table with 63.50 percent having received the second dose followed by Kakching with 63.44 percent and Jiribam 60.77 percent.
A total of 333 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 135 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State on February 16, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The number of Covid beds available at RIMS is 252 out of 300 available beds and at JNIMS it is 101 out of 190 beds.
