1039 new cases, 14 deaths reported : Four figure total logged for second successive day

Imphal, July 15 2021:
For the second successive day, Manipur recorded over 1000 positive cases, with the State reporting 1039 new cases in the last 24 hours.
Just a day earlier, Manipur had recorded 1104 new cases, making it the highest spike in a single day.
This is the second time that the State has recorded over 1000 new cases on two successive days, the earlier ones having come on May 29 and May 30 .
The figure of 1039 is also the second highest surge on a single day, with 1104 on July 14 being the highest so far.
With the addition of 1039 new cases, the cumulative figure of positive cases has now gone up to 81,560 including 3936 Central security personnel.
The 1039 new cases were detected out of a total of 7056 samples being tested in the last 24 hours to record the daily positivity rate at 14.7 percent.
The daily death count too continued to be in double digit, with 14 persons passing away in the last 24 hours to take the total death tally to 1340 .
The deceased belonged to Imphal West (5), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (1), Kang-pokpi (2), and Churachandpur (3) .
Of the 1039 persons tested positive in the last 24 hours, 525 are women.
They were tested at RIMS (30), JNIMS (125), District Hospitals (668) and other testing centres (216) .
The newly detected persons hail from Imphal East (270), Imphal West (289), Thoubal (72), Bishnupur (94), Kakching (85), Ukhrul (1), Churachandpur (98), Chandel (23), Senapati (15), Tamenglong (44), Teng-noupal (4), Pherzawl (1), Noney (26), Kamjong (5) and Kangpokpi (12) .
On the other hand 677 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours.
They were discharged from home isolation (298), RIMS (19), JNIMS (14), CCCs (147) and CHICs (199) .
The total number of recovered cases is 71,662 including 3824 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate is now 87.86 percent.
On July 14, a total of 34194 people received their vaccination jabs to take the total number of vaccinated people to 9,55,923 .
Out of this the number of people who have received their second shot is 103744 .
The number of patients as on July 14 admitted/adjusted against available bed strengths in different treatment facilities in the State are RIMS (223/224), JNIMS (221/286), I Land Hospital (28/60), District Covid Facilities (145/347), MSF (26/30), Private Covid Hospitals (219/330) and CCCs (1271/2946) .
