Low count continues with 135 new cases, 2 deaths
CCpur leads hill dists on death table

Imphal, October 13 2021:
The low count continues with 135 persons returning positive results in the last 24 hours while the virus claimed yet another two lives in the same period of time to take the tally of deaths to 1889 .
The 135 cases include one from amongst the Central security personnel.
The new cases were detected out of a total of 2646 samples tested in the last 24 hours to take the daily positivity rate to 5.2 percent which is a slight increase from the 5.1 percent recorded on October 12 .
The two deceased persons are from Imphal West and Ukhrul district.
While Imphal West continues to lead the table on the number of deaths, in the hill districts it is Churachandpur which tops with 159 so far.
A distant second amongst the hill districts on the death table is Kangpokpi which has logged 59 deaths so far.
Ukhrul also comes higher on the death table with 38 deaths recorded so far followed by Chandel with 35 .
Till date, Pherzawl is the only district which has not reported any death case with 463 positive cases so far.
The two persons who passed away due to the virus in the last 24 hours had co-morbidities and none of them had received the vaccine shot, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement.
The positive status of the 135 persons were confirmed during testing at RIMS (4), JNIMS (10) and other testing centres (121) .
The 134 positive cases from amongst the general population were drawn from Imphal East (30), Imphal West (80), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (11), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Kangpokpi (2) .
Though 315 samples were tested during the last 24 hours at Churachandpur, none of them returned positive result.
Other than Churachandpur, Chandel, Jiribam, Kamjong, Noney, and Pherzawl reported no new cases in the last 24 hours.
Significantly no samples were tested at Pherzawl.
With the addition of 135 more cases, the cumulative number of positive cases in Manipur has now gone up to 1,22,363 including 4310 Central security personnel.
On the other hand 107 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (16), JNIMS (14) and CCCs (77) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1,19,015 including 4285 Central security personnel and the recovery rate now stands at 97.26 percent.
The number of active cases is 1459 including 20 Central security personnel.
On October 12, 8525 people were vaccinated taking the total number of vaccinated people to 17,94,905 including 5,61,797 who have received their second dose.
A total of 858 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 180 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State on October 12 .
The number of beds available as enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room is RIMS (General beds-209, ICU-27), JNIMS (General beds-45, ICU-1), CMC Koirengei (General beds-26, ICU-7), Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (General beds-25, ICU-5), Jivan Hospital, Kakching (General beds-20, ICU-5), Shija Hospital (General beds-44, ICU-35), Raj Medicity (General beds-77, ICU-21) .
