56 more test positive, 2 succumb

Imphal, November 01 2021:
Manipur logged 56 new Covid positive cases and 2 fatalities due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
The COVID-19 Common Control Room, in a press release, said that 56 persons (29 males, 27 females) from general population tested positive in the last 24 hours.
The positive cases came from 1245 samples tested taking the daily positivity rate to 4.5 percent.
Imphal West recorded the highest number of cases with 34 returning positive for the virus while the rest belong to Imphal East (15), Chandel (1), Churachandpur (4), Kamjong (1) and Tamenglong (1), it said.
It also noted that the State Level COVID-19 Audit Committee has reported death of two unvaccinated persons taking the cumulative number to 1923 .
They were from Thoubal and Imphal East and one of them had co-morbidities, it said.
Altogether 50 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours including 9 from home isolation, from RIMS (2), JNIMS (9) and CCCs (30), it said.
The cumulative number of positive cases is now 1,23,787 including 4334 Central security personnel and the number of recovered cases is 1,21,152 .
The number of active cases is 712 (general population-700 and Central security personnel-12) and the recovery rate is 97.87 percent, it said.
COVID-19 Common Control Room further informed that a total of 701 D-type and 133 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of Manipur as on October 31.Meanwhile, 4597 doses of Covid vaccine were administered on October 31 taking the cumulative number of doses administered to 19,68,713, it said.
With this, the number of fully vaccinated people has reached 719301 .
The COVID-19 Common Control Room said that 37.12 percent of the total eligible people in the State have been inoculated as on October 31.Jiribam continues to be at the top in terms of second dose vaccination clocking 63.02 percent followed by Imphal West (54.93 percent), Imphal East (48.26 percent), Kakching (43.73 percent), Churachandpur (37.91 percent), Bishnupur (37.07 percent), Thoubal (32.45 percent), Pherzawl (31.99 percent), Tengnoupal (31.64 percent), Chandel (28.82 percent), Noney (26.88 percent), Kangpokpi (19.97 percent), Ukhrul (16.84 percent), Tamenglong (16.66 percent), Kamjong (14.80 percent) and Senapati (11.81 percent) .
