51 test positive, two more succumb

Imphal, November 17 2021:
The State's Covid-19 death toll has reached 1955 as two more individuals who had co-morbidities and were not vaccinated succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours.
The latest victims belonged to Imphal East and Imphal West, according to a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
On the other hand, 51 samples were confirmed Covid-19 positive at RIMS (3) and other testing centres (48) out of 2,022 samples tested during the last 24 hours which puts today's positivity rate (TPR) at 2.5 per cent.
Imphal East recorded the highest TPR at 5.4 per cent followed by Imphal West 4.4 per cent and Kakching 4 per cent.

A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that the 51 people who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (18), Imphal West (22), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (4), Tengnoupal (1) and Ukhrul (2) .
Following recovery, 34 Covid-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (14), RIMS (4), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (11) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,24,639 (general population 1,20,288 and Central security personnel 4,351) .
This figure includes 552 active cases (general population 542 and Central security personnel 10) and 1,22,132 recovered cases (general population 1,17,796 and Central security personnel 4,336) .
The recovery rate as on Wednesday is 97.99 per cent.
The Additional Director (Health) further informed that a total of 736 D-type oxygen cylinders and 107 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State on Tuesday.
Taking into account 7031 doses administered yesterday, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 20,76,012 (first dose 12,64,522 and second dose 8,11,490).So far, 54.02 per cent of the State's total population has been given first dose of Covid vaccine while 34.66 per cent has been given both the first and second doses.
